The 'Me' of Neverland - Chapter 1: Undestined Emancipation {Reaction}

Hiya, it's Lilliana here and welcome back to Eckheart! Before I explain today's post, I'd first like to apologise for missing two whole weeks of blog updates. Usually, writing about my new reading experiences and sharing it with you, my lovely readers, is one of my most cherished times of the week! But with the new coming of Term 1, also comes wave after wave of assessments targeting all my schedules and personal mental state. And though it slightly did decrease, I'm happy to say that the worst has passed (And thank god it did) and you'll be seeing consistent updates weekly as you did before! I just want to say thankyou so much for reading my posts and staying with me, it means the world to me and I hope that I'll continue seeing your face (or words) around here too!

This blog post will be a large jump from last week's update! I hardly have any time on my plate, but when I do, there's always those special fanfics I love to run back to. My amazing friend, Serenity Garcia, started a series on Wattpad called 'The Lilly of Neverland'! And although dire stories are one of the last books I pick off the shelf, Serenity has still managed to place me right smack in the middle. Why thankyou, Seri, for being so considerate of my low resistance to fear! Anyways, today's blog post will be about me reacting to her chapters in the nicest way possible! (Ehehehehehe, that's karma for you, Seri!)

Summary

"Marchioness Penelope Adair" is standing amidst a court and proposing the information, proof and reasons for her emancipation to her current Adair family. The judges looked down upon her at first, but soon flinched at her words. Soon, the noble Lady walks out the main doors to the court and faces a group of paparazzi preparing to take photo's and firing questions at her.

Lady Penelope walks out with her guards to pave a way and meets a Marquess, a dear childhood friend. Marquess Allister Flores suggests that he escort her and Lady Penelope agrees. But once she reaches her manor, she is greeted by an unknown voice that manages to somehow whisk her away to the one and only Promised Neverland

My Reaction

I know what you must be thinking, if this story is based on me and literally has my name in the title . . . What's with the "Lady Penelope Adair" thing? I was thinking that too before Serenity (somewhat) explained to me that it was because Lilliana was a 'too nice of a name' and Penelope gives readers that 'villainess pop'. Which is absolutely disrespectful to my Royalcore Manhwa Fandoms- Why?! Because one of my most beloved Queens in the whole word- Lady Penelope Eckart- has that name! And yes, I basically have her last name (It is my honour, My Lady), but even so, her first name is something which I cannot possibly use casually as my own! It's defamation!

Serenity silenced my notifications.

Seri also decided to make the prologue set in the 1800's - Regency era and make my character a powerful noble. Which, I won't lie, I'm grateful for, but the personality seemed a bit . . . off.

I asked Seri about that too and she said, "Oh, that? Dummy, why can't you see? It's just you with a temper. Jeez, and I though that was obvious".

. . . So somehow, me with a temper suddenly turns bi-polar and becomes some sort of Ice Queen to anyone who goes against me. Isn't it just lovely to know that one of my closest friends think of that? How truly kind of you, Seri.

Anyways, things became even more dramatic as Serenity explained to me how 'truly miserably' my life is and wishes to 'portray it through this story; a gift for me'. I wouldn't be lying if I said I felt so disregarded back then and just sent her a GIF on an anime boy with deep disgust. Haha, little did I know I just had to choose THIS: a GIF of RAY looking disgusted at a scene with him and EMMA!

So Seri came to the conclusion that I had a thing for either Emma or Ray ('I mean why would you have them in your camera roll if you're not a simp' - Serenity Garcia, 2021) and when I declined all false accusations, she just decided to roll a die and stuck with Ray. "Congratulations, Lilly! You just won yourself a new hubby boyfriend!". I was speechless. You see, Seri has two main sides of her. One is: Stubborn, cold, evil and scheming, yet a good leader. The other is: Psychotic, smiling simp with a decreased stock on basic human logic. As you might've thought, I favour none over the other.

Anyways, Marquess Flores is also supposed to be personification of a teddy-bear I have. Seri thinks he's crazy and somehow possessed but I think my dearest Allister (The bear. Not the character) is the most adorable teddy to have ever been created! But either way, Seri decided to make him psychotically deep in her series because this was now 'her story and I was only a character'.

. . . H-how generous of you Serenity.

Conclusion

Anyways, despite Serenity being in her "Psychotic, smiling simp with a decreased stock on basic human logic" mode, I still absolutely love her writing style! And I love her too (I do, but this do not mean I regret anything), she's a great friend who's stayed with me all these years. Which, I can't lie, but that took some guts and a heap load of patience. I can't wait to see how her series turns out! The fate of me and the other characters are in your hands now, Seri!

She's already on her 61st Chapter on Wattpad! You can read it here:

And, as an exclusive editor and co-idea manager for this story, I have a few (quite dark) but fundamental spoilers for the future chapters! Feel free to ask anything in the comment section below! I hope you enjoy your next story adventure!
