A Peek at Harry Potter - The Philosophers Stone: Part 2

Updated: Nov 10, 2021

Welcome back! It's Lilly here! It's been a few weeks since I've last updated this post series, but I wouldn't dare drop a series as extraordinary as this! Much like the PJO series, this series and the characters inside are unparalleled! Before I start, I just want to thank you guys for reading my posts. Even reading one post makes me delighted, so I'm really grateful for reading what I've written! Now, let's start the reaction!

Summary

Let's skip to the part where Harry arrives at school. Harry meets Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger on the way to Hogwarts and they become close friends.

The trio whisper to each other as others are sorted into one of the four houses: Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Harry ends up in Gryffindor (no prejudice) with his newfound friends.

Harry finds more about Hermione and Ron's family and heritage, Ron comes from an old wizarding family whilst Hermione is the daughter of two dentist muggles (slang for those who don't have magic abilities).

After seeing Draco Malfoy, (a descendant of an old wizarding family) and having a not-so-pleasant introduction, Harry and Draco decide to be eternal enemies. But that's not the most exciting part, during a lecture with Madame Rolanda Hooch, Harry is known as a Quidditch star!

Word spreads as people start to think of Harry as his father. Harry is quickly accepted into Gryffindor's Quidditch team as the youngest current player.

Enemies are destined to hate each other but Draco takes onto a new level as he tricks Harry, Hermione and Ron into leaving their rooms at night, a serious violation of school rules. Little did Draco know, he actually helped the trio!

Lost at night, the three friends discovered the hiding place of a three-headed-dog behind the trapdoor! Snape, a potions professor, holding his undying bitterness towards anyone in Gryffindor quickly comes to hate Harry and his friends.

He's also becoming extremely suspicious towards the trio and wondering what's behind that mysterious trapdoor. Lucky for Harry, his dad was a legend! As a Christmas gift, he's given an invisible cloak which can make it's wearer invisible as long as they wear it!

Harry does all sorts of mischief with the magical attire, but he finds something fascinating while sneaking off at night: the Mirror of Erised. This supernatural item is said to have the power to show the viewer's deepest desire.

My Reaction

At this point in the book, I've become entranced by it! I wouldn't say I was a fan just yet, but I was extremely curious to see what's going on in the next chapter. It was the worst month of sleepless nights, honestly, cliff-hangers will be the end of me!

I was really proud of Harry, he was able to leave from that horrible family and open up to new people! Even though I didn't read the books, my friends were the worst when it comes to suspense. I remember bringing my earmuffs at school one day to block out their spoiling mouths!

Anyways, Ron and Hermione were already people I knew and I was happy that Harry got to meet them so early in the book. Of course, everyone knows that Harry would get into Gryffindor, but it was still quite a majestic moment!

Imagine being that famous! Everyone quiet when they hear your name! I would never be that famous, but I'm happy cheering the protagonists on from the side-lines! That part in the book when I realised I was a muggle hurt. But hey, it's never too late to be magical!

Moving on, was I the only one who wished Draco and Harry would be friends? They're basically the same as each other! The only difference is that Harry is more courageous and Draco is more cunning.

Or maybe that's just me, but I feel like Draco and Harry should've been closer in the books. Although I'll never forgive Draco for insulting the Weasley family!

The quidditch part was what I was looking forward to most! I've never flied before but, at the very least, I can read about other people doing it. J.K.Rowling was really creative when it came to thinking up games!

I loved the idea and the history of Quidditch, it was simple but creative! Yes! Harry Potter! The young quidditch prodigy! He owns it!

To be honest, I like Fluffy. I think he's adorable! I feel like the only person to agree with me on that would be Hagrid (Hard to believe he's the same giant that threatened the Dudley Family).

Christmas at Hogwarts was something I've read about, written about and dreamed about, but nothing I can experience myself. It looked gorgeous, I don't think I've ever been more jealous of anyone in my life!

I loved Harry's father, but his invisible cloak made me think of him in a whole new light! He. Was. A. God! I won't lie, I cried when Harry saw his family in the Mirror of Erised. I was just imagining what could've been if Harry's parents lived and my heart broke! I'll never be able to forgive Voldemort for ruining this fluffy family!

I've definitely gotten closer to the HP fandom family while reading this series! I hope you enjoy this series as much as I do! I've gotten quite curious to know about your thoughts and I'd love to hear your comments! Thanks again for reading my posts!

Love,

Lillian
