Hiya to all my wonderous god-like readers and welcome back to Eckheart! Lilly here today and I'm so excited to share with you guys the second part of the PJO & HOO Cabin Style Series! As a daughter of Aphrodite, I can say that, despite being unparalleled in your intelligence, children of Athena also have one of the most classy, chic and mature tastes in fashion! I do hope I was able to re-create that vibe during this blog post. But you're the judge of that now, oh wise demigod!
(And I've also gotten a talk with one of my friends that my designs are more . . . lady-centred rather than men so-) Thy holy daughter/child of Athena, I welcome you to your cabin!
Training
The first set of outfits is always the hardest. It's when my mind goes on a creative dive to search all the uncharted aesthetics of the world! However, for this cabin, it wasn't that difficult to settle on one that I adore: Light Academia! I mean, who could master emotionally positive, appreciation for intellectual and fine arts and creatively-messily-organised more than Athena's children?
You took in a deep breath, glancing at the latest page of your book before releasing the grip on your arrow. You watched proudly as it hit your desired destination: Jacob's head. The book didn't lie after all, you thought to yourself.
"Really, Y/N?", Your elder half-brother, Jacob shot you an accusing look. 'You had the chance to ask me to do anything you wanted and you chose this?'
You smirked at him, leaning up and pulling the arrow-head from an apple that was tied around his head. 't was worth it', you said defiantly, 'You were about to cry in fear, don't deny it Jay. Besides, you're crazy enough to do anything weirder than this with joy.'
Chiron trotted around the training area, eyeing the two of you.
'Hmm, good idea Y/N. Not only does this style of archery improve personal aim but also peer support. Keep this up and I'll be sure to give you the title of 'Cabin Head' soon enough! On that note . . . I'll need to tell the nymphs to start growing apples. Keep working hard, Y/N!', Chiron left. 'Oh, and Jacob too, of course', not even bothering to turn around and face the young man.
You snorted and shot a glance at Jacob. Who sighed and rolled his eyes back, 'Just because I'm friends with the Stoll's . . .'
Blessed by the Prophecy - Questing!
I adored creating these outfits, but the second set of fits allowed me to create a more light-academia-ed vibe through the apparel I chose. Sadly, not many people choose to wear plaid skirts when brandishing a knife at someone's neck. But hey, at least now, Questing includes all activities from soaring in a flying ship to crawling out of Tartarus to making little poodle friends along the way so the ideas were endless!
"Hey Y/N", You turned your head to face Annabeth, your half-sister. "Rachel's looking for you. Do you want to go? If you don't want to, just tell me and I'll tell that redhead-".
"AHA!", A loud expression of what seemed to be success exploded from said redhead, 'I knew Annabeth would try to do something to get you to not come'. All your other siblings groaned in annoyance and smashed a pillow over their heads to continue reading. There were even a few pillows thrown at Rachel.
"Rachel?", You asked her, "What are you doing here? I don't think you're allowed to be here . . .'
"Yeah, because I banned her from entering our premises", Annabeth glared at her.
"Pshh, it was just a little paint. If anything, you overreacted by evacuating everyone and demanding a renovation. Besides, Y/N knows I'm sorry, right Y/N?", Then Rachel turned to you.
Between Rachel's happy-deadly aura and Annabeth's killer glare you froze in the middle of the two of them.
"Anyways!", Rachel clapped her hands together, 'I'm here to talk to Y/N about the prophecy, so let's stop with the dilly-dally. Congratulations Y/N! Now, just hold my hand and hear the words of Apollo-".
"W-wait- PROPHECY?! Rachel Elizabeth Dare, who do you think you are by endangering my sibling with even the thought of sending him/her/them on a quest?!", Annabeth accused.
But Rachel just held your hands and you watched in wonder as swirls of green swept up like magical vines and surrounded you. A new knowledge entered you, and you were satisfied.
Campfire
I loved, loved, loved making these two! (Specially loving the second one, hehe) The third set of outfits is more of a casual-academia look. After all, the Campfire is no catwalk but a diverse place where people and clothes of all colours and cultures come to join! Anyways, the first outfit is based of a more sophisticated, organised-uni student look. Whilst the other is like the uni student's more playful, sweet and girly bestie/sister. Which one are you?
You sat at the Athena table, eyes blazing with determination to figure out that riddle-like prophecy. Jacob sat down next to you, "Yo Y/N? You good there? Oh and, you gon' eat that?", He asked.
You picked up your strawberry pie and threw it at him, "Have it".
Jacob's face turned anxious, "Y/N, y-you idiot! Micah is coming from the Demeter table right now-if he see's me-".
"Shush, Jay. I'm pretty sure he's seen you look ten times worse. Besides, he's going to the Poseidon table with Percy's sibling. He won't be able to see you from that angle".
You glanced at Micah just in time to see him wink at your brother and you rolled your eyes feeling Jacob's excitement rattle the table. He shook Annabeth next to him with so much energy that you could barely make out her figure. Annabeth's eye twitched, having enough experience with Jacob's large outbursts.
"That Micah boy . . . ", you heard her mumble under her breath with intense hatred. You chuckled awkwardly, the last thing you would want was to anger your sister.
"Anyways!", One of your older half-siblings clapped their hands, sweat beading their forehead. "Since it's Y/N's last night here for quite some time, w-we should all wish her luck on the quest, right?", they stuttered out.
Annabeth's eyes softened as she said a toast out for you and everyone cheered back. She came up next to you and hugged you, you could feel her warm tears stain your clothing, "Be safe out there, Y/N. The world's a dangerous place, you don't always have to be the hero. Just coming back alive would be an achievement. Y'know Y/N . . . you're one of the closest people to me in the Athena cabin, you're closer than any biological sibling. I don't think I would be able to survive it if I heard news of your injury. So . . . just always put yourself first, okay? Before any god's or goddess's orders, alright?", She spoke.
You were shocked. Annabeth stared at you with the most vulnerable, desperate eyes she has ever worn. A warm feeling blossomed in your heart and you felt loved.
A tear rolled down your cheek and you intertwined your pinkie finger with hers. Then, you were crushed by a massive group hug that even Annabeth couldn't bear to be mad at. The different scents of your half-family will always remind you of Home.
Nighty-Night
Unfortunately, in my first episode of this Style Series, a certain someone criticized my glorious look of a sea-shell necklace on PJ's (Don't think it isn't you, Pratsie 🥲💢). So for today's sleep-wear I've chosen to opt for simple vintage pearl studs instead. And of course, fuzzy slippers. Because who doesn't love fuzzy slippers. (That isn't a question; It's a statement)
You stared out the window feeling tired. Though you were grateful for all the love and words of support everyone has given you, it still took a toll on your energy. You sighed, rolled on your back and lifted your latest book up into the air to read it better. Sadly, the book fell on your face and you rubbed your nose, hurt.
You didn't know what was happening to yourself, you usually aren't this clumsy. But you had been dropping and tripping over things the whole night. You stared at your hands. They were trembling. You furrowed your brows and wrung your hands together.
"Y-Y/N?", A quiet, melodic voice called to you from under your bunk.
You smiled to yourself, "Yes Star? Shouldn't you be sleeping by now?".
You heard the smaller girl let out a short yawn and move in her bunk, "I know, but I can't sleep. You can't either, Y/N".
You let out a short chuckle, "Yeah . . . I know".
Star let out a whimper, "I really don't want you to go. Chiron told me and the others that bad things happen on quests. You were the first person who befriended me here, Y/N. I don't want anything bad to happen to you!", the 5-year-old squeaked.
Your expression softened, "I don't think I have much of a choice. It's a prophecy, remember? If the future says it, then so be it. I can't exactly deny it, can I?".
You could hear Star kicking her pillow in anger, "Humph! Fine! But don't blame me if you get something bad!".
You laughed, "Don't worry, your the last person I'd blame. . . Hey, how about we make a promise?"
"Promise?", Star echoed in wonder, "What is it?!", she said to you in wonder.
"Shh, shh!", You waved your hand at her to signal for her to lower the volume.
She gasped and clamped both her hands over her mouth. One of your siblings snored and rolled on their backs. The two of you giggled. Climbing down the bunk stairs, you faced Star, "The promise goes like this: I'll make sure nothing bad happens to me on quest and be sure to come back as soon as I can. You on the other hand, need to work harder and get stronger while I'm gone. This way, I won't be worried on my quest", You wiggled your pinkie finger.
Star giggled and intertwined her small finger with yours, "I, Star Miller, promise, with the most promises of all!".
You laughed, not exactly understanding how her thoughts and words worked but knowing that she loved you was more than enough knowledge. "Goodnight, Star".
Awww, I absolutely adored creating Star's adorable character. Unfortunately for me though, my sky is full of them right now and sleep is more impatient today. So, bright child of Athena, may the stars of your night help you find your way through the quest of your life. Goodnight Y/N! Your story begins now, and it's up to you how you want to play it.
- Lot's of Love,
Lilliana <3
