Hi there, everyone! It's Lilliana again and I'm here to write my first (official) blog post. Although I did say the word "peek", beware, because that's probably the biggest lie I've ever stated. (I tried to make alliteration). I'll be going through Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in lots of detail and if you enjoy that, please make sure to comment so I can make more magical-related posts.
Summary
First off, a summary of the beginning of "Harry and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone.
Harry Potter is introduced to us as a ten-year-old orphan who was taken in by the Dursley family: uncaring Aunt Petunia, controlling Uncle Vernon and the spoilt, arrogant cousin, Dudley.
Although the Dursley family acts like Harry is such a big nuisance, it's Harry who suffers most in the Dursley family's so-called "care".
Harry is bullied at school and anyone who wishes to help him are too scared of being bullied themselves, so Harry is confused when he finds a letter addressed to him. Uncle Vernon makes it obvious that he doesn't want Harry seeing the contents of the letter, but that doesn't stop the letters from getting re-sent day after day.
Finally, Uncle Vernon had enough of it and moved to an abandoned and tight hut/shack on a small, infamous island. This doesn't stop Harry from knowing about the contents of the letters though, on his 11th birthday, a half-giant named, Hagrid explains that Harry is a wizard and that he has been accepted into the Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.
This infuriates good old Vernon though, because he never wanted Harry to know about his past or magic, but he's too threatened by Hagrid to comment on anything.
Hagrid also tells Harry that his late mother and father were a witch and wizard, graduates of Hogwarts, as well as how Lilly and James Potter died because of Voldemort and how Harry got his lightning-bolt-shaped scar.

My Reaction
I've got to admit, at first, I didn't want to read Harry Potter. But that was only because I was a die-hard fan of Percy Jackson! I believed the Percy was naturally better than Harry and whenever someone suggested the series to me, I'd just push the book away.
But on one, magical, fateful day, I was alone in the library isle and the "Harry Potter" started to sing my name. Don't judge my imagination! Anyways, I ended up reading it and I've got to say, it's probably one of the best and worst things that has ever happened to me.
I laughed and cried and squealed for book after book. I feel like I've become a part of it. It was the largest part of my life last year, my life practically evolved around the books. (Not to mention the amount of fluffy Harry Potter fanfic chapters I wrote). I mean, who could resist Romione?!
When I first started reading about the start of little Harry, I remember doing nothing but thinking: "If only I could kidnap him into my house and cuddle him until I die", because I felt so incredibly bad for him.
The Dudley family were straight up torturing him! They didn't deserve Harry! I felt extremely bad for Harry because, normally, when someone is having a bad life, it's only half of their life being ruined. For example, if your sad at school because someone is bullying you, you'd normally feel excited to go home.
But that isn't the case for Harry, he's hurt wherever he goes. And I mean that literally, Dudley and his friends basically patrol him!
I really couldn't wait until Harry was shipped off to Hogwarts, I was practically devouring the pages as quickly as I could. Then finally, when the letter found it's way to Harry, I was squealing, finally, finally, Harry could leave this dump! But then Vernon had to come over and ruin my vibe.
I was fuming! I don't think I've ever been so mad the whole year! But then . . . karma came. Oh, sweet, blessed, Goddess Karma, thankyou for bestowing your magic upon this pitiful boy! The letters were sent to Harry's "room" everyday, increasing in quantity.
*Sigh* How satisfying it was to see Verny lose his cool and start screaming. But it wasn't exactly the smartest choice for him to move to a toilet-sized cabin in the middle of the woods, though.
That's when Hagrid came in! The famous Hagrid from the movies, I was exhilarated, I wanted nothing more but to jump into the book and have an autograph! Hagrid really deserves his place in filming society though. He scared the Dursley family to stone!
Not only did he protect Harry (for a little while), he also explained what happened to Harry's parents. I've got to admit, that part about his parents were a bit cliché, but I still loved it. I was sobbing, so I decided to lift up my spirits by writing fluffy fanfic's about Lilly, James and Harry if they were still alive. Too bad it made me cry more.
The start of Harry Potter was basically the start of my love for fandoms. My friends were crying like proud parents when I finally (reluctantly) admitted that it was a good series.
I absolutely adore the HP series and I can now say that I'm a die-hard fan, proudly. There're so many things about this series and I've got a lot of comments and opinions which I've bottled up. And, if you're willing to share them, I would love to hear what you think about Harry's adventures too!
Love,
Lilly
