It's Lilly here and it's great to see you again! Today, I'll be introducing a new reaction series based on the manga: "I'll be the Matriarch of this Family"/"I will Master this family"! Looking back on my posts, I've realised I haven't mentioned a single manga yet, so what would be a better start than to start with my all-time-favourite?! This Manga features a sly, witty and adorable little girl as she fights to climb up the hierarchy to save her family from her evil uncles! She's a Queen in cute bows: Florentia Lombardi!
Summary
Florentia is introduced to us as a beautiful and intelligent woman in her 20's! The story begins when she's telling two relatives not to spend their money on gambling.
Of course, although their family, Florentia is treated like dirt because her mother has passed on and her father is easily stepped on, not to mention the fact that she was an illegitimate child but also a woman.
Florentia is slapped and verbally abused, but she slowly gets used to the cruelty because she wants to help this pathetic and foolish family!
Despite the hate showed by her uncles, Florentia is still favoured by her grandfather, but he can do nothing to help because he retired from his place as the patriarch of the Lombardi family.
The first scenario showed a poor girl in tattered clothes, but you'd be surprised by what you see in the next few panels. Our Queen is shown as stunning goddess bathed in diamonds and gold! An unimaginably cute guy helps her out and escorts her to the palace/court.
When the herald was told to announce their arrival, he addressed the man as the the crown prince and Florentina as the matriarch of the Lombardi family!
My Reaction
At first, I expected this to be some stereotypical revenge manga, but I was wrong! In the first chapter, I was already entranced by the wonderful art, not to mention I'm totally rooting for our female lead, Florentia!
If you look at her closely, she looks a lot like Merida from the movie "Brave". When Florentia was introduced in the first panel, I didn't expect her to be the girl in the tattered clothing.
I felt really bad for Florentia, she was born in the most ambitious, successful and extravagant family in the whole empire, but she was still ignored, abused and used.
But I was taken aback when she announced that she wanted to help the Lombardi family! After all, they're the ones who made her life a violent dump. If I were her, I'd try to avenge myself instead of trying to help them.
Even right after they slapped her, she still tried to tell them not to gamble with the family's money! The family's successors were such fools, taking everything they had for granted. I pitied Florentia who has way more potential than these two to become the house leader.
Her relatives cursed her for being the daughter of a commoner, which was the most ridiculous remark that could ever escape someone's mouth! No one can ever choose who to be born from! Why try in vain to point out someone's mistakes when your mistakes largely surpass hers?!
I was a bit confused when I saw a woman in a luxurious gown in the next panels! I was wondering where our female lead went. I only understood that it was Florentia once her name and tittle was announced. It took me quite a while to process this information and realise that it was future Florentia!
