Percy Jackson Reaction - The Lightening Thief: Part 3

Hi demigods, it's Lilly and welcome back! It's been quite some time since my last Greek mythology post! Reminiscing never get's old! I was extremely eager to get back to blogging especially after I accidentally struck gold! Percy Jackson and The Lightening Thief: The Musical is a legend! Especially my newfound all-time-favourite: The Campfire Song!

Summary

It's been a few weeks since my last mythology post, so I'll start with a quick recap! Sally is still gone (*sobs*), Percy is accepted into Camp Half-blood by most people and Zeus accuses Percy of theft. After Percy visited the Oracle, Chiron shared his opinion.

According to the Latin teacher, Hades stole the bolt to start a war between his brothers. Preparing for the quest to the Underworld, Percy chooses Grover and Annabeth (UwU) to accompany him.

Facing the rumoured Greek monsters: the Furies (three evil witch-like beings who causes Percy to blow up the bus they're in), Aunty Em, aka Medusa (a snake-haired being which Percy defeats and not-so-kindly sends her head to Olympus), Echidna (not the Australian animal) and Chimera.

The trio, after facing many hardships, finally meet a spirit who suggests that Percy and his friends go to Santa Monica to reach the Underworld. Somehow ending up in Denver, Percy, Annabeth and Grover meet the fabled god of War, Ares.

After negotiating and coming to an agreement, the trio retrieves Ares' shield which was guarded by Hephaestus, god of fire and patron of craftsmen and returns it to Ares in exchange for new of Percy's mother.

Ares reveals that Percy's mother is still alive and gifts them a backpack of survival supplies and a helpful trip to Nevada.

My Reaction

At this point of the book, every chapter was wonderfully bizarre! When you finally have a vague idea about what will happen in the next few pages, Uncle Ricky, aka Rick Riordan, aka the author, changes the plot in an instant!

Saying my farewell to Camp Half Blood, leaving was probably where I was most obsessed. Please accept my apology CHB but Percabeth finally show's it's true colours! I fully agreed with Chiron and his theory about Hades back then, but you can't blame me.

His reasons were believable! The part when Percy went up to the Oracle, her description creeped me out. Mummy's are terrifying! Percy is probably the bravest person I met to meet her face to face and be unfazed!

To be honest, I got a bit lazy when it came to the Greek monsters. Percy is either really unlucky to suffer through so many fights or really lucky to be able to survive through all of them!

There was so many! Facing one of them would cause enough terror to last me a lifetime, so I'm extremely happy to watch from the side-lines!

To be honest, I know that Medusa did a lot of terrible things to innocent people, but I feel horrible for her and I can somewhat understand why she wanted to stone all those people. Her myth is basically a twisted love story!

As a priestess for the Athens, all Medusa wanted was love, but Athena punished her for that and turned her into a hideous hag! When Percy, Annie and Grover meet a spirit, I was so ready for Percy to be reunited with his mother again!

Sadly, they insist on changing the course again and help out Ares instead! At first, I thought Ares was a cool guy, but there's a difference between cool and plain evil! In the very least, he told one truth: Sally Jackson was still alive!

Thank the gods! Mother-son fluff was just what I needed after a long day of reading about Percy defeating monsters! And the amount of times Percabeth showed up made me squeal so much my voice was painfully hoarse! But, who could keep a straight face when looking at this?!:

Thankyou so much for reading this post and accompanying me during my PJO journey! I hope you enjoyed this reaction and if there's anything you'd like to say or want me to change, please don't hesitate to do so! Like I said before, reading your comments makes my day, so I'd love to hear from you! Please like and share!

Love,

Lillian
