Heya, it's your beloved blogger back, a day late, once again! I sure am responsible, aren't I? Anyways, welcome to Eckheart for this week's new post! Sure, it's been months since I've done this but I thought it would be nice to start one of these 'X Reader' fics again! And yes, I know that it's a sequel, and I also know how terribly bad I am at keeping up with story sequels (The Daughter of Darkness 😭), but I thought I could give this one a try! Not to mention a certain best friend-practically-sister continuously pestering me to write a Y/N x Luke fanfic for the past few months. So here it is!
Beforehand
'Alethea' means 'truth' in Greek mythology. Truth and honesty have always been praised as virtues and keys to a heavenly afterlife. But what happens when an ordinary girl see's Truth in an unordinary world? Y/N Miller, a clear-sighted mortal, comes face-to-face with one of the most deceptive antagonists in the PJO Universe. What will happen to her? Will the Truth in her be twisted or could she find a path towards honesty for her and her lover?
Presenting The Name Alethea
Chapter 1
The Birth of a Hero
"I'm Alethea and I'm never letting you go"

It was a bright summer's day in the Miller household. Y/N was lying on the floor, her elbows propping her up, as she stared at the array of crayons and paper. Y/N stifled a laugh as she drew various orange and pink ribbons on a dragon.
“What are you doing there, Y/N?”, Your mother asked as she picked your tiny, two-year-old body up from the floor.
You clasped your hands over your mouth and smiled, indicating that she would have to guess.
Your mother smiled at you, even as a mere baby, you could see how beautiful your mother was. Hehehe, she’s my beautiful mother! I have the prettiest mummy in the world!
She bopped you on the nose, “Silly girl. Alright, let’s see what you have drawn this time with your vast imagination!”.
You giggled as your mother switched your weight onto one hand and crouched down to pick up your drawings.
“Oh, my~ My darling Y/N is such an artist! I can see . . . a small girl with bright wings and . . . oh! Are those bird feet?”, Your mother laughed kindly, “Do you wish animals like dragons and snake-haired girls exist, Y/N?”.
You shook your head. But they’re already real! I’ve seen them before! I’ve seen giants with only one eye and horses flying above us with wings! Why can’t you see them too, Mummy?
Your brows were furrowed and your mother was worried at how tense you looked.
The door clicked, “Guess whose home!”, a familiar voice resounded.
You gasped loudly and squirmed out of your mother’s grasp. She chuckled and helped you down from your arms as you ran towards your father, “Dadda!”, you cheered.
“Aww, Y/N. Hello, my lovely little angel”, your father kissed you on your forehead.
Your parents kissed as you scrambled up quickly and showed father your drawings. Your father squatted down to your height after passing a blue blanket to your mother, who thanked him in return.
“Did our precious Y/N draw this?”, he asked.
You nodded enthusiastically.
“It’s beautiful! Come, if we fold this in half”, your father spoke as he demonstrated, “It would be the perfect card for May and Hermes”.
He leaned down and took my other drawing and folded it in half too, “This can be for their new son: Luke!”
You smiled at the realisation and carefully took the cards from your fathers outstretched hand.
“Come along now, you two. It’s due time we head on over, the party’s about to start!”, Your mother announced as she put on your woven summer hat and softly pinched your nose.
The three of you walked out of your townhouse, your parents swinging you in their arms, along with a bouquet of gladiolus and Forget-Me-Nots, baby supplies and a coffee blender.
You stepped up the white stairs of the almost-identical townhouse right beside yours and rythmatically knocked on the crimson red door. There was a loud squeak as it opened and a pretty woman with blonde hair gray eyes beamed brightly when she saw you and your family.
“Well, if it isn’t the Millers! How are you all? Oh, how rude of me, please come in. I’ll get Hermes downstairs in a bit”, May Castellan welcomed the three of you in warmly.
“May, May!”, You cheered. May was like an aunt to you and you loved her a lot- though not as much as your mother! You loved your mother the most!
“Alethea! How are you sweetheart?”, May asked as she hugged you close.
Your mother laughed, “May, how many times must I tell you? Her name’s Y/N, not Alethea”.
“She’s always seemed more like an Alethea to me”, May shrugged jokingly.
“I’ve got some tea prepared before the guests start coming in. Please have some”, May continued, “Oh, and Y/N, you can go ahead and check on the sleeping boy. He’s still dozing right now but I thought you could give him some company. Now that I think about it, you two are only two years apart! You’ll be like an older sister to him, wouldn’t that be lovely?”, May blabbered.
“Yes May!”, you replied. Your eyes squinted as you went into mission mode. Once identifying your target as New baby boy, Luke, you lifted your arms up, imitating a plane and made soft, mechanical noises as you raced to the newborn child.
“Y/N, don’t forget to be quiet! The boy is still sleeping”, your father called after you. You peeked your head out of Luke’s room and ‘shh’ed him, causing your father to sigh.
Walking slowly, mission mode off, you tip-toed quietly to the newborn child.
So this is little Luke. Mwahahaha, one day, you’ll have to call me big sister, so don’t forget to give me some respect!
You smiled evily to yourself. I’ll finally be older than someone!
Taking a closer look at the small child, you noticed a goldish aura around him. It looked like glitter, complimenting his blonde hair and blue eyes.
Curiosity getting the better of you, you flicked your small hands over the crib walls and reached your index finger to his tiny head. Once it touched, you felt a heavy bang to your heart.
What. . . ? Why does this little boy’s mind hurt so much? Why does it feel like he harbours so much darkness? But it’s powerful too, it’s powerfully dark.
You furrowed your brows again, body tensing up. You felt confidence burn through you, I’m gonna make sure that this boy doesn’t hurt so much anymore!
I vow to all the one-eyed giants and winged ponies that I’ll protect this ‘Luke’! Don’t worry, Luke, you’ve got big sister Y/N here to take care of you for the rest of your life! You’re gonna grow up big and strong all the way until old age! But even then, you’ll still have to call me older sister, okay?
You knew he was asleep, but even so, you took your small pinky finger and placed it next to his hand. Surprisingly, the boy yawned and blinked one eye open. His chubby pinky finger curled around yours and he slowly opened his mouth.
“Ungg, wah, uwahh”, the small child blabbered.
Your tensed further, “Wut awr you saying)” (What are you saying?”)
Luke stopped squirming and looked at you straight in the eyes, his bright blue pupils glittering in the faint sun.
“. . . Alntha”
You stopped. Alethea? H-he said my nickname! But how did he know about it! How precious, I’m gonna keep him and protect him forever!
20 minutes later, May introduced all the guests into the baby room.
“Oh, hello, Y/N. What are you doing, love?”, May asked.
You didn’t tear your eyes from the lovely, sleeping boy in front of you, “. . . Not letting go”, you muttered.
The adults laughed kindly, but you swore to stay true to your promise.
That’s right, Luke! I'm Alethea and I’m never letting you go! I’ll show you all the dragons and flying people one day! You’ll remember me as big sister Y/N until the day you die!
"It's time to go. Wave goodbye now, Y/N!"
